For the past three years, Ritchie Bros.’ GovPlanet marketplace has been helping the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) sell thousands of its surplus rolling stock assets. Now Ritchie Bros. is excited to announce that they are expanding its relationship with the government agency, and will sell non-rolling stock surplus assets for both its East and West regions. The contract has a base term of two years with four one-year renewal options. Non-rolling stock assets include non-wheeled items such as industrial machinery, electrical equipment, textiles, spare parts and other miscellaneous surplus assets.
We are currently assessing warehouses and targeting Las Vegas, NV and Chambersburg, PA. We will also be utilizing our multiple storage sites throughout the US.
We are working quickly to get inventory up and are targeting to do a soft launch by the end of the 1st quarter and a full launch 2nd quarter.
New inventory coming is what is called "Non-Rolling Stock". We will have everything from boots and shirts to desks and canteens.
